Made a little mental health trip to a place I've wanted to visit for a while after a rough couple weeks, and while exploring the Lewis and Clark National Historic Park I found this fun bottle in a canoe! It's crazy how a little adventure always lifts the spirits and how easy it is for others to make some magic.
“Mom? Mom! Guess what we found? A message in a bottle !” My son and his friend were experiencing the freedom of Gearhart, OR, 20Apr2024 when at the meadow on Marion and Pacific way, the boys saw a bottle by a tree. After an amazing sunny Spring morning in the sand, the boys went to roam Gearhart and found a huge surprise of a treasure map and $50 in a bottle. The boys were beside themselves. Lots of discussion on what to do with the money. Buy more candy, donate it, pay it forward? A combo of a beach treat and a little paying it forward to local businesses is the decision. What a fun and positive experience in our day. Thank you Messageinabottle mystery person!
I was in Astoria Oregon walking on Irving by the college and noticed a bottle by a garbage can and it had a piece of paper in it I didn't think much of it I just stuck it in my pocket and 3 hours later decided to open it from a completely sealed bottle and there was a $50 bill wrapped in it and a website to share my experience.
My husband Brian and I were in Seaside at the parking lot on 12th Street. Plan was to walk on the beach before our son's basketball game. While walking back to the truck we found the message in a bottle and decided to let our son (12 years old) open it as a Christmas present before heading to his mother's house for the holidays. This morning we opened it and saw the adorable "map". To our surprise it also included a $50.... How awesome is that? What a great joy for all of us! We will be spending it on a family trip to the movies or arcade after the New Year!!! So fun! Thank you for this fun little adventure we will get to have! I've always wanted to find a message in a bottle and this definitely surpassed my expectations! Happy Holidays from the Crago family!
My girlfriend and I went on a hike at trails near Tillamook and we stopped by the Tillamook trailhead and it was my girlfriend's first time being in the area that I was showing her. And I noticed the glass bottle underneath a sign under some leaves and picked it up thinking it was trash. I noticed that there was a message in the bottle and I handed it to my girlfriend. We open the bottle together and was surprised to find the treasure. It made for a great adventure for the day at the coast and the $50 paid for our Sunday date night at the coast. Thank you so much for making a good day even better and creating a fantastic experience for my girlfriend and I to always remember.
"This is Awesome! I go to Ft. Clatsop all the time. I usually park at the little four car turn out, just past the fort. I start my hike there and walk past the fort and head towards the Netul River Trailhead. I go all the way to the landing and just sort of chill for awhile before I head back. Today was a really good day (July 15, 2023) I reached the landing at about 6:30pm, the lighting was spectacular, calm wind, and just really good out. The fish were jumping out of the Lewis and Clark River. After about thirty minutes, I decided to head back. During the hike back, I was filled with a sense of well-being, I just couldn't get over how well the lighting was, especially going through some of the thicker, wooded areas. Just as I crossed Fort Clatsop road, I saw the bottle up against a sign post. Of course, there is a level of excitement that goes along with something like this, but I waited until I got back to my car before I opened it. The treasure was a pleasant surprise, but I think the gesture and the timing is what moved me the most. Thank you."
"I was at Seaside OR for a church beach trip for all the youth. It was getting late so we started heading back to the cars to go home. I was ahead of my group and just reached the trail that lead to the parking lot when I saw the bottle out of the corner of my eye. I just dismissed it as someones littered beer bottle, and for some reason had to turn back and look again at the bottle. When I saw the rolled up piece of paper, I thought that I was reliving a old pirates movie or something, so I called my leader over and opened it up with my small group of people. I thought that I was going to throw up when I saw a $50 bill in the paper (considering that $50 is a lot for a 13 year old) The note itself looked very cute and vintage, just like in a pirate movie. I plan on using the money for feed for my hamster, and money towards me getting a rabbit. Thank you guys for the super fun experience and fun new memory."
